![]() ![]() In this PHP Tutorial, we learned how to iterate or loop for each character in a string, using different ways in PHP. In this example, we will take a string, say âappleâ, and iterate over each character of the string using index, that increments for each iteration, and for loop statement. Iterate over characters in String using Index and For Loop Statement 3 increases a value ( i++) each time the code block in the loop has been. If the condition is true, the loop will start over again, if it is false, the loop will end. Statement 2 defines the condition for the loop to run ( i must be less than 5 ). In this example, we will take a string, say âappleâ, and iterate over each character of the string using str_split() function and foreach statement. Statement 1 sets a variable before the loop starts ( int i 0 ). For each character in string using str_split() and foreach
